In 2018, van Leeuwen’s film “Ikigai” won at the national finals of the Kunstbende Festival, marking a significant achievement in his career. The following year, he landed his first leading role in “Verborgen Verhalen.” Alongside his acting career, van Leeuwen has cultivated a notable presence on social media under the name AkaLuuk, attracting over 350.000 followers. His online popularity earned him a nomination for “Best Newcomer” at the 2022 Social Awards and for “Best Online Star” at the 2023 Zapp Awards, demonstrating his growing influence in both traditional and digital media spaces.
