Matthias Schoch Actor
Matthias Schoch absolvierte seine Schauspielausbildung an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (Bachelor of Arts 2011). Bereits vor der Ausbildung spielte er die Hauptrolle in Christoph Schaubs Kinofilm «Jeune Homme». 2008 erhielt er den Studienpreis des Migros-Kulturprozent, 2013 den Förderpreis der Armin-Ziegler-Stiftung.
2011 bis 2014 war er festes Ensemblemitglied am Theater Orchester Biel Solothurn (TOBS), danach freischaffend in Film/TV, freier Szene und an Stadttheatern. Hier sind insbesondere die Titelrollen in «Don Carlos», «Amadeus» und «Jedermann» hervorzuheben sowie die Einladung zum Schweizer Theatertreffen mit der Stückentwicklung von Merker/Schoch «Before I Speak I Have Something to Say» (2017). Er arbeitete am Theater u.a. mit Katharina Rupp, Deborah Epstein, Cilli Drexel, Janusz Kica, Robin Telfer und Max Merker zusammen, beim Film u.a. mit Christoph Schaub, Natascha Beller, Nick Hilber, Tobias Ineichen und Carmen Stadler.
Zuletzt war er in der Tatort-Folge «Rapunzel» in der Rolle des Rudolf von Landegg zu sehen sowie im Hauptcast der neuen Serie «Unsere kleine Botschaft» (6 Folgen, 2025).
Neben der schauspielerischen Arbeit war er 2014–2018 Künstlerischer Leiter des Freilichtspektakels «Zirkus Chnopf», welches mit dem Kulturpreis der Stadt Zürich ausgezeichnet wurde, und ist Mitgründer der Produktions- und Spielstätte «Zirkusquartier Zürich». Seit 2023 gehört er zur Künstlerischen Leitung von «Karl's kühne Gassenschau» für die Grossproduktion «RECEPTION» mit Premiere im Juni 2024.
