Odin Lund Biron Actor

Contact Supporting member about-me-VIDEO

Born in the United States on the beautiful shores of Lake Superior, at the age of twenty and in the junior year of studies at the University of Michigan School of Music, Odin traveled to Russia as a Benjamin A. Gilman scholar to train at the Moscow Art Theater School-Studio (MXAT) for three months. Upon invitation from MXAT professors, he remained in Moscow and graduated with honors in 2009, one of only two Americans and a handful of foreigners to have ever graduated from the traditional (Russian-language) acting program.

With a Golden Leaf award in hand for his MXAT performance of Hamlet (three years after beginning his studies of the Russian language), Odin immediately began working at Moscow's Satyricon Theater as a troupe actor, where he played Salieri opposite master teacher, Satyricon Artistic Director and renowned actor Konstantin Raikin's Mozart in Viktor Ryzhakov's staging of Pushkin's Little Tragedies. Two years of work at the Satyricon was followed by a five-year run as beloved intern Phil Richards on Russia's most popular sitcom "Interns".

In 2013, an unexpected invitation from famed director Kirill Serebrennikov ("The Student", "Petrov's Flu", "Leto") to play the lead role of Pavel Ivanovich Chichikov in his staging of Nikolai Gogol's "Dead Souls" lead to six prolific years as a troupe actor at Russia's most renowned avant-garde theater - Gogol Center. Ten premiers, two Golden Mask nominations for best actor, multiple international festivals, including two residencies at Festival d'Avignon ( Dead Souls 2016, Outside 2019) have lead to an unparalleled experience in collective theater.

From 2022-2025, a fixed guest actor and singer at Hamburg's Thalia Theater, performing leading roles in "Der schwarze Mönch", "Die Rache der Fledermaus", "Barocco" and "Legende: Paradjanov".

At the 75th Festival de Cannes in 2022, premiered his first lead role in a feature film: Serebrennikov's "Tchaikovsky's Wife" ("Le Femme de Tchaikovsky") where he played the titular role of Pyotr Tchaikovsky. In 2024, premiered at the Festival de Cannes in five supporting roles alongside Ben Whishaw in "Limonov: The Ballad".

Berlin-based since 2022.
