Sarah Scherer ist freischaffende Schauspielerin und Regisseurin für Film, Theater und Oper.
Ihre Ausbildung absolvierte sie an der Schauspielschule Krauss in Wien und an der New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. Zudem studierte sie Zeitgenössischen Tanz in Wien.
Neben zahlreichen Theaterproduktionen, spielte sie in Kurz- und Langspielfilmen mit und arbeitet als professionelle Sprecherin für Werbung, Synchronisation und Live-Hörspiele.
Sie spielte eine Hauptrolle im Spielfilm „Loslassen“, von Götz Raimund, der seine Premiere 2018 beim Chelsea Film Festival in New York feierte.
Als Regisseurin drehte sie acht Kurzfilme, Werbungen und Musikvideos, u.a. für der britischen Musiker Phil Gould. Ihr Kurzfilm "Golden Shot", bei dem sie für Drehbuch und Regie verantwortlich war, gewann den Award für „Best director in a short film“ beim New York City International Film Festival und in San Diego, The Indie Film Fest in der Kategorie "Women Filmmakers", weitere Kurzfilme wurden auf internationalen Festivals vorgeführt. Ihr Drehbuch "Balkan Trip" gewann den scriptLab Förderungspreis des Drehbuchforum Austria.
Sarah Scherer is a professional actress and director for film, theatre and opera.
She studied Acting and Contemporary Dance in Vienna, Austria and filmmaking in Los Angeles.
She worked as a professional actress for theatre productions, stood both in front of and behind the camera for several short and feature movies, won the Scriptlab fiction price in Austria for her co-authorship of „Balkan Trip“, directed several plays in theatre and worked as a professional speaker for documentaries and commercials. Sarah played a lead role in the feature film "Letting Go", directed by Götz Raimund, wich premiered at the Chelsea Film Festival in New York City in 2018.
As a director she shot 8 short films, commercials and music videos, including British musician Phil Gould. Sarah won an Award as "Best Director in a short film" at the New York City International Film Festival and "Best Women Filmmaker" Award at The Indie Fest, San Diego for her short movie "A Golden Shot“, other short films were selected for several international film festivals.
